China allocated 1.63 billion yuan (242.3 million U.S. dollars) of financial aid to encourage universitystudents to join the army in 2016, according to theMinistry of Education (MOE).

据教育部介绍，中国于2016年下拨了16.3亿元（2.423亿美元）的财政补助，以此来鼓励大学生们参军。

A total of 124,100 university students ranging fromundergraduates, postgraduates to doctoral studentsreceived funding last year for enlistment in the armedforces, while 8,117 ex-servicemen were alsosubsidized with 44.6 million yuan of funding topursue their higher education degrees.

从本科生、硕士生到博士生，总计有12.41万名去年入伍的大学生收到了补贴，另有8117名退伍军人也被补贴了4460万元，用以完成他们的高等教育学位。

China has formed a comprehensive education aid system to encourage more universitystudents to join the army, and those veterans can also be financially supported if they arewilling to go to college, the MOE said.

教育部表示，中国已经形成了一个全面的教育补助体系，来鼓励更多大学生参军，那些退伍军人如果愿意读大学也会得到财政支持。

The annual subsidy for each undergraduate will not exceed 8,000 yuan, and the sum formasters or doctoral students can reach up to 12,000 per capita each year, said the MOE.

教育部指出，每名本科生每年的补贴不超过8000元，硕士或博士每人每年的补贴则可达到12000元。

The students' university name roll will be maintained during the period of enlistment, and theycan resume their study after leaving the army, according to the MOE.

据教育部介绍，学生的大学学籍在入伍期间将会保留，他们在退伍后可以重新开始学业。
