A Guangzhou company is keeping track of employees on business trips by requiring them tosend selfies holding the day's local newspaper.

日前，广州一家公司为追踪出差员工的行程，竟然要求他们发一张拿着目的地当天报纸的自拍照。

"Buying a newspaper is the first thing I do before going to work," said one employee at aGuangzhou real estate company identified as Roy.

广州某房地产公司员工罗伊表示：“买份报纸是我上班前要做的第一件事。”

After taking a selfie that shows the newspaper's date clearly, Roy sends the photo to a WeChatgroup as proof he's clocked in.

在拍摄一张清楚显示报纸日期的照片之后，罗伊把这张照片发到一个微信群里，以此作为考勤的凭据。

"I feel embarrassed when people see me doing this," said Roy. "Taking a selfie with anewspaper on the way to work is quite weird."

罗伊说道：“当人们看着我这样做时，我感到很尴尬。上班途中拿着一张报纸自拍确实很奇怪。”

Other area companies are resorting to unusual ways to keep tabs on workers.

Another Guangzhou company is using a face scanner that can distinguish human faces fromphotos.

广州另外一家公司则使用了面部扫描设备，可以区别人脸和照片。

This comes as a disappointment to an employee at the company surnamed Lu, who learnedof the scanner's accuracy the hard way. "Now it is impossible for other people to clock youin," Lu said.

这让该公司员工陆先生非常失望，他很清楚这台人脸扫描仪的准确性。他说道：“现在不可能让别人帮你打卡了。”
